Working with HDTV*

HDTV is a far higher standard of Television, providing 5x the amount of pixels as regular TV. This is really challenging for make up artists as obviously a lot more care must be taken with make up application to make sure its flawless enough. Cinematographers use various techniques such as soft lighting, filtration, and degrading the image to make it less defined. It is the make up artists job to use appropriate techniques to get the actor looking as flawless as possible, such as applying foundation through an airbrush to eliminate brush strokes and build coverage. Even men require heavy make up when shooting in HD. Hairstylists and Wig makers have to be extra careful to ensure the hair is not fluffy or frizzy, and the wig nets don't show.
